Abstract
The 1-methylnicotinamide (MNA) inhibited concanavalin A (Con A)-induced inflammatory liver injury by PGI2 dependent inhibition of IL-4 release from lymphocytes and subsequent decrease in TNF-α. The direct effect of MNA-released PGI2 on TNF-α production by Kupffer cells may also be involved in the hapatoprotective effect of MNA (Ohta et al., 2005; Nakamura et al., 1998).
