Abstract
Multiple factors contribute to failure of immunosurveillance and the progression of cancer. The proper orchestration of the surrounding microenvironmental cells, gene expression, and other stimuli all contribute to the balance between tumor-protection and tumor-progression. We review some of the critical players involved in tumor-induced immunosuppression with special reference to chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
