Abstract

âº Classic stress-diathesis models are insufficient to explain impact of stress in neurobiology of bipolar disorder. âº New models like allostatic load and hormesis are more accurate to explain the relationship between stress and psychopathology. âº Resistance, resilience and recovery are important mechanisms to stress adaptation.
