Abstract
⺠Classic stress-diathesis models are insufficient to explain impact of stress in neurobiology of bipolar disorder. ⺠New models like allostatic load and hormesis are more accurate to explain the relationship between stress and psychopathology. ⺠Resistance, resilience and recovery are important mechanisms to stress adaptation.
