Abstract
âºA novel immunotoxin produced a depletion of cholinergic interneurons in the nucleus accumbens. âºSuch lesions rats showed a marked increase in the locomotor activating effects of amphetamine. âºLesion of intra accumbens cholinergic neurons induced a disruption of sensorimotor gating. âºThe administration of haloperidol reversed sensorimotor gating deficits produced by the lesion.
