Abstract
⺠A gender-dependent association exists between dietary protein and depressed mood. ⺠Increased intake of protein is protective among men but deleterious among women. âºHigh legume consumption was associated with the risk of depressed mood among women. ⺠Drinking milk is associated with a reduced risk of depressed mood among men.
