Abstract
⺠Aquaporin-8 is expressed in mitochondria of human hepatoma HepG2 cells. ⺠Aquaporin-8 knockdown impairs mitochondrial H2O2 release and increases ROS. ⺠Aquaporin-8 knockdown causes ROS-induced mitochondrial depolarization and cell death. ⺠Mitochondrial permeability transition blockage prevents depolarization and cell death.
