Abstract
⺠Cardiac contractility is an important physiological function of the heart. ⺠Assessment of contractility is a logical part of pre-clinical drug safety testing. ⺠There are limited validated assays that predict effects of compounds on contractility. ⺠Using dog myocytes, we have developed an in vitro cardiac contractility assay. ⺠The assay predicted the in vivo contractility with a good level of accuracy.
