Abstract
► A large amount of H2S is released from sulforaphane. ► H2S mediates the anti-survival effect of sulforaphane on human prostate cancer cells. ► Cystathionine gamma-lyase is a major H2S-producing enzyme in prostate tissues. ► p38 MAPK and JNK contribute to H2S and sulforaphane-reduced viability in prostate cancer cells.
