Abstract
⺠Actions of usnic acid, a naturally occurring compound, on liver metabolism. ⺠Catabolism is stimulated and anabolism is inhibited at very low concentrations. ⺠Taken as a whole the effects are harmful for the metabolic homeostasis. ⺠The commercial use of usnic acid should be strictly controlled.
