Abstract
⺠Muscle regeneration was used to study ColQ regulation in developing muscles. ⺠Extrajunctional ColQ mRNA levels are low in fast and high in slow regenerating muscle. ⺠Innervation slowly completely reduced ColQ mRNA levels in regenerating fast muscles. ⺠ColQ mRNA levels in fast muscles do not increase after tonic muscle activation. ⺠Low extrajunctional ColQ expression in fast muscles is encoded in their stem cells.
