Abstract
⺠Mangiferin attenuates methylmercury induced cytotoxicity in IMR-32 cells. ⺠Pretreatment with mangiferin reduced methylmercury induced oxidative stress. ⺠Mangiferin aided in restoration of ÎΨm along with cytosolic Ca2+ homeostasis. ⺠Inhibition of apoptosis by downregulating bax, caspase-3 and cytochrome c release. ⺠Cytoprotection by mangiferin do not entail role of microtubule and metallothionein.
