Abstract
⺠Induction of CYP3A by SBP and its main components is investigated. ⺠SBP increases the activity, mRNA and protein expressions of CYP3A4 in HepG2 cells. ⺠SBP enhances the activities and mRNA expressions of CYP3A1 and CYP3A2 in rats. ⺠Bufalin, cinobufagin, and resibufogenin are identified as novel CYP3A4 inducers. ⺠Bufalin and cinobufagin play a critical role in CYP3A4 induction effects of SBP.
