Abstract
⺠Cylindrospermopsin (CYN) is a secondary metabolite produced by several Cyanobacteria species. ⺠CYN can have wide adverse effect on human health. ⺠CYN neuro- and immunotoxicity and cancer promotion is still not well-known. ⺠Eutrophication and climate change can accelerate expansion of CYN producers in Europe. ⺠Cyanobacteria in surface waters should be a subject to regular control monitoring.
