Abstract
► 14 subjects were examined using fMRI under sober and ethanol condition. ► The modified balloon model was implemented to investigate ethanol-induced effects on the neurovascular coupling. ► A visuomotor paradigm was used to evoke cerebral activity across different brain areas. ► We found decreased neuronal efficacy and increased transit time of blood through the venous compartment.
