Abstract
⺠5 nm ceria were administered to rats in vivo and end points determined 30 days later. ⺠Indices of oxidative stress were determined in three brain regions. ⺠5 nm ceria NP exert pro-oxidant effects in brain without crossing the BBB. ⺠Important cautionary implications of proposed therapeutic use of ceria NP emerged.
