Abstract
► Bacterial and fungal enzymes have wide use in range of household cleaning products. ► The toxicology of these enzymes is generally unremarkable. ► Enzymes can cause respiratory allergy so exposure must be limited to safe levels. ► Sixty nanograms per cubic meter is the starting point for the definition of occupational exposure limits. ► For consumer use, a limit of 15 ng/m3 is the starting point for safety assessment.
