Abstract
⺠Bacterial and fungal enzymes have wide use in range of household cleaning products. ⺠The toxicology of these enzymes is generally unremarkable. ⺠Enzymes can cause respiratory allergy so exposure must be limited to safe levels. ⺠Sixty nanograms per cubic meter is the starting point for the definition of occupational exposure limits. ⺠For consumer use, a limit of 15 ng/m3 is the starting point for safety assessment.
