Abstract
⺠Glycyrrhiza glabra is widespread throughout the world for various therapeutic applications. ⺠GutGardâ¢, a standardized flavonoid rich de-glycyrrhizinated extract of G. glabra root. ⺠GutGard⢠was evaluated for possible mutagenicity using standard battery of genotoxicity tests. ⺠GutGard⢠did not exhibit mutagenic effect in TA98 and TAMix strains of Salmonella typhimurium. ⺠GutGard⢠did not increase the chromosomal aberrations or micronucleus formation in CHO-K1 cells.
