Abstract
⺠Biodurable glass fibers have a long retention time in lung and produce injury and cancer. ⺠Biosoluble fibers have a short retention time in lung and do not produce injury or cancer. ⺠IARC does not classify biosoluble fibers as having a potential for causing cancer. ⺠Biosoluble fibers are not carcinogenic to humans. ⺠Improved scientific information can guide development of safer products.
