Abstract

âº Diepoxybutane (DEB) induces severe acute toxicity to human lymphocytes. âº DEB toxicity is characterized by GSH depletion and loss of ATP, followed by cell death. âº Acetyl-l-carnitine protects human lymphocytes against DEB-induced acute toxicity. âº The acetyl-l-carnitine protective effect was potentiated by Î±-lipoic acid.
