Abstract
⺠We examined SAMe protection of oxidative stress enzyme activity from acetaminophen. ⺠Mitochondrial 3-nitrotyrosine adduction by acetaminophen was prevented by SAMe. ⺠We showed that SAMe protection is not by inhibition of CYP 2E1. ⺠SAMe reduced mitochondrial protein carbonylation induced by acetaminophen.
