Abstract
► High concentration of ACR or high-efficiency NO donors are toxic for hMPC. ► High-efficiency NO donors increase RNS/ROS levels in cell cytoplasm leading to cell necrosis. ► High concentration of ACR induces apoptosis through the RNS/ROS independent mechanisms. ► ACR has no modulatory effect on the expression of bone sialoprotein and osteopontin. ► NO donors, but not ACR, act through guanylate cyclase-dependent differentiation pathway.
