Abstract
⺠Exposure of DHEA to bovine liver slices results in increased androgenic activity. ⺠Formation of various (androgenic) metabolites of DHEA could be confirmed by UPLC-TOFMS analysis. ⺠DHEA gene expression profiles are comparable to those of the potent androgen 17Ã-testosterone. ⺠Bovine liver slices allow the assessment of various effect-based endpoints for prohormone exposure.
