Abstract
⺠Abamectin causes hepatotoxicity in animals. ⺠We study the effects of abamectin on the bioenergetics of liver mitochondria. ⺠Abamectin caused dose-dependent inhibition of the mitochondrial ATP synthesis. ⺠Abamectin inhibits the FoF1-ATPase and adenine nucleotide translocator activities. ⺠Impairment of mitochondrial bioenergetics could be involved in abamectin toxicity.
