Abstract
⺠Cd and Ca toxicity were studied using modulators of mitochondrial membrane channels. ⺠The modulators tested reduced mitochondrial uptake of Cd and Ca. ⺠The modulators protected against Cd- and Ca-induced mitochondrial toxicity. ⺠We conclude that mitochondrial membrane channels are involved in Cd and Ca toxicity.
