► Odontobuthus doriae venom induced apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in MCF-7 cells. ► Venom depleted GSH and Catalases activity and increased nitric oxide production. ► Mitochondria depolarization and DNA laddering confirmed apoptotic property. ► Venom inhibited cell proliferation evidenced by BrdU incorporation assay.
