Abstract
⺠The anticancererogenic Withaferin A triggers suicidal erythrocyte death (eryptosis). ⺠Withaferin leads to erythrocyte shrinkage and cell membrane scrambling. ⺠Withaferin increases cytosolic Ca2+-activity. ⺠Withaferin stimulated ceramide-formation. ⺠Withaferin thus triggers suicidal death of cells without nuclei and mitochondria.
