Abstract
⺠This is an original global gene expression analysis on saporin-treated cancer cells. ⺠The transcriptional response is consistent with protein synthesis inhibition. ⺠The antioxidant N-acetylcysteine partially blocks apoptosis induced by the toxin. ⺠b-SO6 is a potent ribosome-inactivating protein that induces oxidative stress. ⺠An antibody-avidin fusion protein targeting the TfR1 effectively delivers b-SO6.
