Abstract
This article describes a unique dual approach to simulation, with nursing students developing and implementing clinical scenarios using high fidelity mannequins for middle school students. Nursing students gained experience with simulation that prepared them for later nursing simulations. By working with middle school students they also gained knowledge of pediatric concepts related to growth and development, physical characteristics, attitudes, and communication styles of adolescents. Middle school students were introduced to the role of the nurse and possible health careers. Faculty, nursing, and middle school students reported this was a valuable learning experience.
