Abstract
⺠We devised a method to extract RNA from trabecular bone osteocytes. ⺠C5 caudal vertebra was subjected to single and repetitive dose of compression loading. ⺠Trabecular osteocytic RNA was analyzed for changes in global gene expression. ⺠We found multiple load-regulated genes. ⺠Asporin and Wnt5a are genes that may regulate the load-induced bone anabolic effect.
