Abstract
⺠Titanium nitride oxide (TiNOx) coatings were deposited on Ti-SLA or CoCr implants. ⺠Coated and uncoated implants were implanted in the jawbone of Göttingen minipigs. ⺠The new boneâtoâimplant contact was determined at 1, 2, 4 and 12 weeks of healing. ⺠TiNOx coatings enhance implant osseointegration during the first month of healing. ⺠The stimulating effect of TiNOx coatings is independent of the substrate.
