Abstract
⺠Abdominal fat was negatively associated with bone mineral density in white and African American men and women. ⺠African Americans, men, and those with high lean body mass had higher levels of bone mineral density. ⺠There were no significant sex or race interactions found in the relationship between abdominal body fat and bone mineral density.
