Abstract
⺠Zinc-deficiency decreased osteoblasts and osteoclasts in the proximal tibia of rat. ⺠These decreases were associated with reduced osteoblastogenesis and osteoclastogenesis. ⺠The reduced osteoblastogenesis was associated with the decreased expression of Runx2. ⺠The reduced osteoclastogenesis was associated with the decreased expression of RANK. ⺠Zinc-deficiency decreased SP-1 and MITF protein in bone.
