Abstract
⺠We analyzed the relationship between bone and body composition changes in 1122 elderly men over 2 years. ⺠Fat loss played the key role in the loss of bone mass associated with weight loss. ⺠Lean body mass was more strongly associated with cross sectional bone mass. ⺠Loss of body fat has a detrimental effect on hip BMD and whole body BMC in elderly men.
