Abstract
⺠ONO-5334 is newly developed potent selective inhibitor of cathepsin K. ⺠ONO-5334 suppresses human osteoclast-mediated collagen degradation in vitro with minimal effect on osteoclasts viability compared to alendronate. ⺠Oral administration of ONO-5334 potently suppresses bone resorption in parathyroid hormone related peptide-treated thyroparathyroidectomized rats and normal monkeys.
