Abstract
⺠Genes from the Wnt signalling pathway were analyzed for association to osteoporosis. ⺠Two separate cohorts of pre- and postmenopausal Swedish women were included. ⺠Phenotypes included bone mineral density, ultrasound, hip structure and fracture. ⺠LRP4 was associated with increased BMD and decreased fracture incidence. ⺠Polymorphisms in LRP5, GPR177 and BMP2 interacted with the LRP4 gene.
