Abstract
⺠Strontium ranelate induces in human osteoarthritic subchondral bone osteoblasts a decreased resorptive activity. ⺠Strontium ranelate modulates in human osteoarthritic subchondral bone osteoblasts the synthesis of key factors leading to bone resorption. ⺠Strontium ranelate could limit the extent of human osteoarthritic subchondral bone matrix degradation through the inhibition of MMPs.
