Abstract
This work demonstrates that activated endothelial cells are more resistant to trophoblast displacement than resting endothelial cells and adds weight to the suggestion that endothelial cells could contribute to shallow invasion of the spiral arteries by trophoblasts in diseases such as preeclampsia.
