Abstract
⺠Chronic Chagas disease patients present different clinical outcomes. ⺠Host immune response to the parasite has an important role in these manifestations. ⺠We evaluate the IL-10 and IFN-γ gene expression in chronic Chagas disease patients. ⺠We found high levels of IFN-γ in cardiac patients and IL-10 in asymptomatic. ⺠We highlight these cytokines in parasite control and disease susceptibility.
