Abstract
⺠High (LLC/R9) and low (LLC) angiogenic variants of Lewis lung carcinoma were used in the study. ⺠LLC/R9 was characterized by higher rate of VEGF secretion in vitro and elevated level of plasma VEGF in vivo as compared to LLC. ⺠Paraneoplastic hematological syndrome was observed in LLC/R9-bearing mice. ⺠The signs of the syndrome were expressed at early stages of tumor growth. ⺠These precocious signs may be considered as early markers of high angiogenic potential of the tumor.
