Abstract

âº The cytokine network and its effects in insulin-secreting cells. âº The most potent toxicity exhibited IL-1Î² and its combinations with other cytokines. âº IL-1Î² toxicity depended on nitric oxide generation. âº TNFÎ± and IFNÎ³ potentiated IL-1Î² toxicity without induction of iNOS. âº Cytokine toxicity consists of NO-dependent and independent components.
