Abstract
⺠The nervous, endocrine, and immune systems communicate during health and disease. ⺠Cytokine dysregulation is linked to several diseases and neuropsychiatric disorders. ⺠Immune molecules and microglia are critical for normal brain development. ⺠Perinatal stressors may cause neuroimmune dysregulation and behavioral disorders. ⺠Microglia may present a novel target for interventions.
