Abstract
⺠Torafugu and red seabream showed a distinct lipid distribution. ⺠We cloned two LPL genes from torafugu. ⺠The relative mRNA levels of PPARγ and LPL1 correlated with lipid content in both fish. Red seabream LPL1 was expressed in adipocytes along the myosepta. ⺠PPARγ and LPL1 would be important for the species-specific lipid accumulation.
