Abstract
⺠Ovarian follicular maturational competency in Atlantic cod was studied. ⺠Maturational competency acquisition may be associated with lipid metabolism. ⺠Several hormone receptors are differentially expressed during vitellogenesis. ⺠Smooth muscle genes are upregulated during vitellogenesis in the follicle wall.
