Abstract
⺠Acute insulin injection affects several factors of muscle protein turnover in trout. ⺠The phosphorylation of IRS1, TOR and 4E-BP1 are induced by acute insulin injection. ⺠The proteasomal and calpastatin genes are down regulated by acute insulin injection. ⺠Autophagy-related genes remained unaffected. ⺠Chronic insulin treatment leads to an insulin resistance state of trout muscle.
