Abstract
⺠Vasotocin and its analog (1dAVT) induce extremely high natriuresis in rats. ⺠1dAVT-induced natriuresis is accompanied by intense solute-free water reabsorption. ⺠1dAVT and loop diuretic, furosemide, have comparable natriuretic effect. ⺠1dAVT inhibition of sodium transport is located in distal nephron. ⺠V1a-antagonists and cyclooxygenase inhibitors decrease 1dAVT-induced natriuresis.
