Abstract
⺠The troponin C from Manila clam (RpTnC) was identified and characterized. ⺠RpTnC demonstrated molecular properties of EF-hand Ca2 +-binding protein family. ⺠RpTnC was constitutively transcribed with highest RpTnC mRNA in adductor muscle. ⺠Ca2 +-challenge stimulated the RpTnC transcription in adductor muscle. ⺠mRNA profile implied that Ca2 + could act as a transcriptional stimulant of RpTnC.
