Abstract
⺠Pioneer report of IRS-1 and PPARγ gene association with PCOS among Indian women. ⺠Polymorphisms identified and analysed in 250 PCOS and 299 controls. ⺠IRS-1 polymorphic alleles had a similar distribution between cases and controls. ⺠PPAR γ variant alleles were significantly more in the controls than the PCOS cases. ⺠Haplotypes indicate protective gene role against specific PCOS sub-phenotypes.
