Two- and three-locus haplotypes of the paraoxonase (PON1) gene are associated with coronary artery disease in Asian Indians

Abstract

âº Three SNPs(L55M, Q192R and -108C/T) of the PON1 gene were studied in Asian Indians. âº R allele (PON1Q 192R) associated with the risk of CAD. âº Haplotype LQ and QT were protective; MR and MC significantly associated with the risk of CAD. âº MRT, a minor three locus haplotype showed significant association with CAD. âº Haplotypes, thus, brought better insight into the relations of PON1 SNPs with CAD.
