Abstract
⺠Upon feeding elongation and desaturation take place for fatty acid synthesis (FAS). ⺠After feeding, dietary lipids (DL) suppress saturated and monounsaturated synthesis. ⺠Elovl7 may be downregulated by insulin and this effect increases by DL. ⺠Regulation of elongases may have a Srebf-1c-independent pathway upon feeding. ⺠Upregulation by feeding of FAS does not compensate for the inhibitory effect of DL.
