Abstract
⺠p38 kinase inhibitors, SB202190 and SB203580, enhanced transcription of U6 promoter. ⺠Stimulation of U6 promoter activity by SB202190 is dependent on octamer sequence. ⺠SB202190-treated nuclear extract showed increased level of octamer binding activity. ⺠p38 kinase inhibitor restored down-regulation of U6 promoter by stress, PMA or p38α. ⺠Cellular U6 RNA was augmented in SB202190-treated Jurkat cells.
